Begin your own journal by getting a special blank book or opening a new document in “Pages” (Mac) or “Word” (Microsoft). Begin by adding a new comment each day that you are thankful for. It could be the weather, a person, an event, or anything that comes to mind. Now if you do this daily… after a year you’ll have 365 things listed… for me I started over 25 years ago and I have thousands of things to be thankful for. Why do this? 17 years ago I suffered a severe stroke…and each of us will have a day where something happens… and we are sad and tempted to become depressed. It is at those times that the list or book becomes a powerful thing to read, think on, and pray through. Gratitude and depression cannot co-exist. Life is a buffet of choices...eat up! Remember: Life is a gift and living is a choice!
