I am Patsy from Des Moines Iowa and I am not a celebrity! For two months I have been Ruth's client in China. Ruth asked me to sharet my experiences. I had a stroke in December which left my right arm and hand useless. I was mobile after the stroke using only a gait belt for the first couple of weeks. I could walk but it was very slow and very difficult.
I was a believer in TCM and went to an acupuncturist for 18 years. In March I tried a different acupuncturist who told me about Ruth. He had studied for two years in China and told me that he could not help me and even if he could it would be very expensive to do it in the United States. He told me in China they use different needling techniques and longer needles. He suggested that I contact Ruth and go to China. When my husband came to get me after my appointment I told him pack your bags we were going to China. We found Ruth, signed up, and I have never looked back.
Each day I see progress and I have gone from no movement in my arm to a lot of movement in just two months. I knew I would see progress but each day it is amazing to watch it happen and see where I am now
My US doctors and rehab specialists never gave me any hope that I could or would get this much movement back. I also want to talk about where we are staying. It is an amazing 5-Star hotel with an amazing staff. They are extremely kind and treat Ruth's clients like family. For example, at breakfast even though I am trying to be independent and to serve myself they are constantly doing things for me I'll have to admit I do like it!
Immediately across the street is a very big mall. I am able to have my hair done, my nails done, and a pedicure also. When I am finished with these services I can stop at Starbucks in the and have my favorite beverage.
I am recovering from a stroke yet at the same time I am really enjoying myself. Now every morning I walk along the river walk for 2 mile. I have been increasing the walk as my leg has been healed.
I just want to say one thing about Ruth, she does not charge a fee for herself. This is a mission for her. She is 100% dedicated to the success of each client. I know this is where I need to be.
I hope this helps,. I wish you all good luck in your decision. I do not regret my decision to come here one bit.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Jan Mickelson. You may know my name from WHO radio. I am a talk show host there. In November of 2015, I had a stroke that almost took my life but it took the left side of my body, my left arm and hand and my leg.
I was in rehab at a top rated rehab center for stroke victims in Iowa and I wasn't making the kind of progress that I wanted and I remembered an interview that I had done years ago with Ruth. Like me she was a stroke survivor who was unhappy with her progress so she found some treatments...some traditional Chinese medical treatments in China and she went there and she came back several months later pretty much symptom free. And I remembered that interview with her so I wanted to see if I could chase her down.
It was after several weeks of trying to find Ruth I was successful. She contacted me and arrangements were made for me to join her in China. I'm there in Tianjin right now under the care and treatment of probably the best Chinese traditional medicine practitioner in the world. In the short time I've been here I've thrown away my wheelchair and I don't use it as a crutch anymore. I'm regaining some of the motion in my left hand and I'm able to walk now without the assistance of a cane or the wheelchair and getting better every day.
The choice I made back then at the beginning was because I knew I did not want to have to except the status quo. That's not acceptable so I decided to spend the money and take this huge long leap of faith and come to China with Ruth. I'm happy I did and I'm making progress every single day. It's the same choice you're facing today...stay the way you are and except that that is your new reality or decide you're going to fight back and find the finest treatment that's available.
You're facing the same questions I faced. Traveling that far, spending the money. Is it worth it and if it if it didn't work, would I get my money back? No! I know it's scary to make a decision as big as this. All I can tell you is that everybody that I've seen so far that has gotten through it has seen successful results including myself. I can recommend you giving it a try.
You are facing the question... do I want to stay the way I am the rest of my life or am I going to fight to get back what I lost?
I made the choice to come to China and accept the new challenge and I am continuing to improve daily.
